What is a vaporizer?

A vaporizer is a device that heats dry herbs, concentrates to an ideal temperature, producing the smoothest possible inhale. The mechanics behind a vape are heating the herbs or concentrates just below the combustion point to enjoy the clouds and flavors.

Portable Vaporizers VS Desktop Vaporizers

Portable vaporizers are discreet and get more powerful, last longer, and offer a great deal of convenience to your dabbing experience. Most portable vaporizers contain powerful rechargeable lithium batteries to combust or vaporizer herbs and concentrate.

A desktop vaporizer is a better choice for true connoisseurs. Because their heating systems are more efficient than smaller devices, extracting the best flavor from the dry herb, leaving out harmful irritants in the process. These devices are for indoor use. Though you can't get desktop vaporizers into your pocket, you can count on them to deliver the purest, smoothest and flavorful dabs from the comfort of your home.

How Vaporizer Works

The herb is placed in the chamber and gets heated up and vaporized. The vapor travels through the airpath and into the mouthpiece, where the user inhales it. After several uses, the herb turns brown and crunchy, which needs to empty up.

The herb heats up to a temperature below the combustion point; therefore, only the vapor gets produced, not the smoke, which means the toxins or carcinogens associated with smoke do not occur.

Marijuana begins to vaporize at a temperature of about 284 F and begins to burn at about 446F. All vaporizers have a temperature range between those two extremes so that users can enjoy the terpenes and cannabinoids of marijuana without worrying that it might get burnt.

There are three different heating methods of dry herb vaporizers, conduction, convection and hybrid.

Conduction is the most common heating method, which means the heating element comes into direct contact with the herb.

Convection, with this, the herb and heating elements do not directly contact each other. The hot air vaporizes it by going through the herb.

Conduction/convection hybrid, as a combination, to provide more rich tasting vapor.

What is Wax Vaporizer

A wax vaporizer is a portable device that heats concentrates into vapor. Wax vaporizer comes in different sizes, batteries and coils, but they're all portable and dab on the go.

How do Wax Vaporizers Work

Like dry herb vaporizers, concentrates are placed inside the chamber. Depending on if it's a convection or conduction vaporizer, the concentrates touch the coil directly; it's a conduction vaporizer. If it gets heated up inside a chamber, it's convection.

It's better to put the concentrates in the middle of the chamber because it will start to run around the coil when you heat up. Click the power button and hold it until there's a nice cloud of vapor.

Temperature Differences Between Dry herb vaporizers and Wax Vaporizers

The temperatures used in wax and dry herb vaporizers are very different. Dry herb vaporizers use low temperatures to produce vapor and will combust at around 450F. However, 450F is the low-end of where wax vaporizers start to produce vapor.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the benefits of using vaporizers?

Using vaporizers will be more healthy for the lungs than traditional smoking methods, as toxins or carcinogens associated with smoke do not occur during vaporization.

Using vaporizers is more discreet and convenient, as most of the vaporizers are palm hand size and don't need a torch.

What's the best temperature to use vaporizers

The most preferred vaporizing temperature for dry herb vaporizers is between 356F to 392F, or very close in that spectrum.

As for concentrate, 545F to 570F is an excellent overall range for most dabs. In this range, it will completely vaporize the dab, capturing its flavor, potency and essence without scorching or combusting any of the heat-sensitive terpenes.
